Signs & Symptoms
Does This Sound Like Your Joint?
Joint pain usually creeps in slowly — a twinge here, a stiffness there — until you notice you have stopped doing the things you love. Patients come to us describing it like this:
- Aching knees on stairs, or after sitting for a while
- A shoulder that catches or pinches when you reach overhead
- Hip pain when walking, standing up, or sleeping on your side
- Elbow or forearm pain — tennis elbow or golfer's elbow
- A knee that swells or stiffens after activity
- Morning stiffness in your hands, knees or shoulders
- Grinding, clicking or a joint that feels unstable
- Pain that is shrinking your workouts, your work, or time with family
Treatment Options
Injection Options, Explained
Every joint is different and so is every patient. These are the treatments we use, what each one is best for, and how long it takes to see a difference.
Corticosteroid Injections
Fast-acting anti-inflammatory relief delivered directly into the joint.
- What it does
- Reduces inflammation quickly and effectively, giving relief from conditions like arthritis, tendinitis and bursitis.
- Best for
- A joint that is painful and inflamed right now and needs to settle fast.
- When relief starts
- Most patients notice meaningful relief within a few days.
- How many
- Usually a single injection; repeat injections are reviewed case by case.
Hyaluronic Acid (Viscosupplementation)
Restores the natural fluid that cushions and lubricates an arthritic joint.
- What it does
- Replaces synovial fluid that has thinned out, so the joint glides instead of grinding. Ideal for knee osteoarthritis.
- Best for
- Knee osteoarthritis that has not responded well to other conservative treatment.
- When relief starts
- Benefits build more slowly than steroids — typically over a few weeks.
- How many
- Often given as a short series; relief can last months for many patients.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Growth factors from your own blood, concentrated and injected into the damaged joint or tendon.
- What it does
- Uses concentrated platelets from your own blood to stimulate tissue repair and reduce chronic inflammation naturally — no synthetic drugs and no foreign substances.
- Best for
- Knee osteoarthritis, tendon problems such as tennis elbow, and patients looking to delay joint replacement.
- When relief starts
- Benefits typically build over 4 to 8 weeks rather than days.
- How many
- Many patients need a short series rather than a single injection.
Patient Questions
Joint Care Questions, Answered
The questions patients ask most before their first visit.
What types of joint care do you offer?
We offer corticosteroid injections for fast-acting anti-inflammatory relief, hyaluronic acid (viscosupplementation) for joint lubrication, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) using your own blood's growth factors, and trigger point injections to relieve muscle pain at the source.
How quickly will I feel relief after joint care?
Many patients experience noticeable relief within a few days of treatment. Corticosteroid injections typically work fastest, while PRP and hyaluronic acid therapies may take a bit longer as they support the body's natural healing process.
Is joint care painful?
Discomfort is minimal. The injection site is numbed beforehand and the procedure itself is brief. Most patients tolerate it very well and return to normal activity shortly after.
How much does joint care cost, and do you take insurance?
Premier Regenerative Medicine is a cash-pay clinic, so we do not bill insurance for joint injections. The exact cost depends on which treatment and how many joints are treated, and your provider confirms the price with you at your consultation before any treatment is given.
Am I a candidate for PRP or joint injections?
The best candidates usually have mild to moderate joint changes, tendon or ligament injuries, or a goal of delaying joint replacement. Regenerative injections are generally not appropriate with an active infection, advanced bone-on-bone arthritis, certain bleeding or immune conditions, or during pregnancy. Your provider reviews your history and examines the joint before recommending anything.
Do you offer stem cell injections?
Our joint care program uses PRP, hyaluronic acid and corticosteroid injections. Cell-based (stem cell) therapy is an emerging option for some joints, and during your consultation your provider will tell you honestly whether it is worth pursuing for your situation.
How many injections will I need?
It depends on the joint and the treatment. Corticosteroid injections are often a single treatment, while hyaluronic acid and PRP are frequently given as a short series. Your provider maps out the expected number of visits before you start.
Which joints do you treat?
Knees, shoulders, hips, ankles, elbows, and the small joints of the hands and feet. All joint care appointments are in-person at our Sherwood, Arkansas office.
